Healthify Ria Goes Live: Real-Time AI Health Coaching & Food Logging (2025)

Get ready to revolutionize your health journey with Healthify's groundbreaking upgrade! The future of health tracking is here, and it's all about real-time, conversational AI.

Healthify, a leading health startup, has taken a giant leap forward by enhancing its AI assistant, Ria, with live conversation capabilities. But here's where it gets exciting: this upgrade isn't just about convenience; it's about creating a seamless, personalized health experience.

With the power of AI, Healthify is now able to provide insights from both structured and unstructured data. Imagine an interface that encourages you to log your meals and workouts effortlessly, and an AI companion that guides you on nutrition and exercise. It's like having your very own health coach, always by your side!

On Tuesday, Healthify unveiled the new version of Ria, which you can converse with using your voice or even your camera to capture food input. The startup is leveraging OpenAI's technology to make this conversational mode a reality, supporting over 50 languages, including 14 Indian languages. And get this - it can even handle mixed language inputs like Hinglish!

Through Ria, users can access their health overview for specific time frames or an overall summary. The app integrates data from fitness trackers, sleep trackers, and glucose monitors, offering insights on exercise, sleep, readiness, and glucose spikes. It's like having a personal health analyst at your fingertips!

Similar to Google Gemini's Live Conversation mode, you can point your camera at different food items and instantly log their nutritional value. Healthify even demonstrated a demo using Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, allowing users to converse with Ria in real-time and log food using the device's camera.

The startup believes this real-time conversation feature will make users feel more comfortable and engaged. It's like having a health buddy who can do multiple things in one session - from providing insights to generating exercise plans, and even logging your goals for you. No more tedious typing; just describe your meals, and Ria takes care of the rest!

But here's where it gets controversial... Healthify plans to utilize its updated AI in user onboarding, gathering insights from unstructured conversations. And this is the part most people miss: new-age dating apps have already adopted this interface to create better matches. Could this be the future of health tracking too?

Healthify is also working on a persistent memory layer over OpenAI's models, allowing the app to remember long-term context around preferences and health changes. This means more personalized suggestions and a truly tailored health experience.

The assistant will be available during conversations with coaches and nutritionists, helping both parties access data and answer questions. Plus, Ria can transcribe calls for further insights, and users or coaches can request data during calls. It's like having an AI assistant in the room, ensuring no valuable information is missed!

Tushar Vashisht, Healthify's CEO, revealed that Ria was trained on years of conversational data between coaches and users, ensuring grounded and accurate advice.

Healthify isn't alone in this space. Apps like Alma, Cal AI, MyfitnessPal, and Ladder have also introduced voice, text, and image-based food intake inputs. But Healthify believes its live conversation mode, data aggregation capabilities, and AI trained on years of data give it a competitive edge.

And there's more! Healthify has added a feature to automatically detect food photos in your gallery, providing options to add missed meals. It's like having a health assistant that never forgets!

Paritosh Kumar, Healthify's CPO, shared their vision: "We are focusing on creating a health ecosystem of nutrition-driven data with other integrations. From an AI perspective, we are putting in levers to solve for accountability in users when it comes to health."

With over 45 million registered users and a few million active monthly users, Healthify is also launching a new AI plan in the U.S., offering the updated Ria assistant and meal planning for $20 per month. The company has been testing various plans with text-based AI and certified nutrition coaches, and now they're ready to take it to the next level.

Healthify aims to announce partnerships for its GLP-1-aided weight loss programs soon and plans to collaborate with health tracking device companies to integrate their data into Ria.

Vashisht hinted at a possible new funding round in the near future, given Healthify's strong U.S. adoption and growth.

So, what do you think? Is this the future of health tracking? Will real-time, conversational AI assistants like Ria revolutionize the way we manage our health? We'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
