A high-stakes bout at UFC Vegas 112 has been scratched from the card. A strawweight clash between top contenders Amanda Lemos and Gillian Robertson was pulled from Saturday’s UFC APEX lineup after Lemos withdrew due to illness, with the promotion later characterizing it as a “medical issue.” Robertson disclosed the news first via an Instagram Story.
Details about Lemos’ illness have not been disclosed.
Lemos sits No. 5 in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings, while Robertson is No. 10. The cancellation represents a significant setback for both fighters, as a victory could have positioned the winner at the forefront of the 115-pound title picture. Lemos comes off a defeat to Tatiana Suarez and has alternated wins and losses across her last six bouts, a stretch that includes a February 2024 decision win over current champion Mackenzie Dern. A title shot would have marked Lemos’ second opportunity at UFC gold after her loss to Zhang Weili at UFC 292.
Robertson has shown strong form since moving down from 125 pounds, winning five of six fights and recording four consecutive victories. Her most recent win, in May, came by knockout in the second round against Marina Rodriguez. Robertson also holds the UFC record for the most submission finishes by a woman and has the most wins by finish in the women’s flyweight division.
The event’s main attraction remains a men’s flyweight title eliminator-like matchup between Brandon Royval and Manel Kape. With the Lemos–Robertson bout removed, UFC Vegas 112 will proceed with 12 bouts on the card.
