Zimbabwe's Agricultural and Rural Development Authority (ARDA) has made a significant contribution to the country's food security and economic growth. In a recent development, ARDA has delivered an impressive 60,347 tonnes of grain to the Grain Marketing Board (GMB), bolstering the nation's Strategic Grain Reserve. This achievement comes on the heels of a record-breaking wheat harvest, estimated at 640,195 tonnes, which is one of the highest yields in recent years.
The exceptional harvest can be attributed to several factors. Firstly, favorable rainfall conditions played a crucial role in ensuring a bountiful crop. Additionally, the government's intensified agricultural initiatives have been instrumental in driving this success. These initiatives have collectively contributed to Zimbabwe's revised economic growth projection of 6.6%, marking a significant improvement.
